Star Wars Outlaws LEGO MOC, 2025
The Utilipede Transport is not a glamorous ship. It’s a cargo hauler: unglamorous, utilitarian, designed to move goods rather than inspire fear. That’s exactly what made it interesting to build.
The structural problem is immediately obvious when you look at it. A very thin spine connects the cockpit to the twin engines, and getting that connection to hold under real handling, with three cargo containers also attached, took several weeks of iterations and a variety of SNOT techniques to resolve. The finished build is sturdy enough to swoosh, though the spine rather than the top wing is the right place to hold it.
The ship appears throughout Star Wars Outlaws, in basically every docking bay and on every landing pad, used by civilians and criminal organizations alike. A modified version was operated by Shuma, the traveling merchant on Toshara, and that’s the configuration I built for the Shuma’s Utilipede diorama. After posting that build, someone who worked on the Shuma encounter in the game reached out. They said seeing it in LEGO felt extra personal to them. That kind of response is why I keep reaching for the less obvious ships.
Full design details, specifications, and building instructions are on the instructions page. Cargo container instructions are available separately on Rebrickable, with color options to match different configurations seen in the game.
