LEGO MOC Breon HOY-39 Dayvan front view, Star Wars Andor Cassian ship custom MOC

Star Wars Andor LEGO MOC, 2025

The Breon HOY-39 Dayvan is not a ship anyone would notice twice. That’s the point. Cassian borrowed it because it was old and inconspicuous, and it carried him from Ferrix to the start of the Rebellion without drawing attention. I built it because almost nobody else had.

As far as I know, I was the first person to build the Breon HOY-39 Dayvan in LEGO. Only one other person has done it since.

The design challenge is the front of the ship: a rounded hull that slopes upward simultaneously, a compound shape that doesn’t resolve cleanly into standard bricks from any angle. Getting it right took several weeks of iterations. The solution relies on SNOT techniques that change stud orientation at multiple points across the nose. The rest of the ship draws on familiar Star Wars references, which helped: the ion engines are modified Y-wing units, the rear rotating blaster cannons follow the same logic as the Firespray-class, and the Corellian-style hatch between the cockpit and cargo hold echoes the Millennium Falcon. The cargo hold fits one minifig and a custom B2-EMO droid. The landing gear removes cleanly for swooshing.

The Breon HOY-39 also has its own diorama, placed at Zorby’s Shiplot on Ferrix, the Andor location where the ship lives between Cassian’s borrowing it. That build was where the ship finally got the scene it deserved.
