Kintan Strider Speeder Bike

ScruffyBrickHerder's MOC of the Kintan Strider Speeder Bike from The Book of Boba Fett

Boba Fett brings this swoop bike to the Tusken Raiders in The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, Chapter 2: “The Tribes of Tatooine,” teaching the tribe to ride them ahead of a raid on a Pyke Syndicate spice train. Unlike a lot of the vehicles I build from the show, this one got a clean side profile on screen, so the proportions come from an actual reference shot rather than pieced together frame by frame.

Building instructions and a complete parts list are available free on Rebrickable.

Origin and Design

The Kintan Strider is built around a bulky forward engine block and four steering vanes, with a stripped-down riding position for the rider. It reads less like a military vehicle and more aggressive like a chopper-style motorcycle, fitting the vibe of a Kintan Strider Gang Boba stole them from. The show’s side shot of the bike, set against Temuera Morrison’s on-screen height, gave me an actual scale to build to rather than a guess.

Creating the Kintan Strider Speeder Bike v2

This is the v2 redesign of a MOC I first built in early 2022, five days after the episode aired, before we even had an official name for it. I called it “Boba’s Swoop Bike” at the time. That version captured the vibe well, but running the numbers against Temuera Morrison’s height put the real swoop at roughly 11 studs long in 1:41 scale. My v1 build was nearly double that, at 19.1 studs.

Going back into it meant rebuilding the chassis and engine from the ground up:

  • Chassis rebuilt at the front, adding a double-sided stud brick so the curved slope detail on the underside matches the one on top
  • Engine reworked in small round elements finished in flat silver, replacing the round brick lost in the front rebuild, with the 1×2 grille from the v1 design brought back for texture and depth
  • Steering vane struts reworked, one attached SNOT-style and one through a standard top connection, bringing the vanes closer together
  • Seat back widened to fit a bar part holding the helmet piece used for the rear exhaust
  • 16 studs long, a bit longer than strict scale, kept that way to match the bike’s aggressive chopper stance

On Patreon, I published a behind-the-scenes article covering the full proportion analysis and prototype history behind this redesign. Tier 1 (Hangar Crew) membership gets you this article and every other behind-the-scenes post I publish.

The Kintan Strider first appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, Chapter 2: “The Tribes of Tatooine” (2022), ridden by the Tusken Raiders during their raid on a Pyke Syndicate spice train. It was also featured prominently throughout the Star Wars Outlaws video game, but the original name and manufacturer are unknown.
