R93 Refractor
The R93 Refractor is a custom LEGO MOC of the Rokana Raiders starfighter from Star Wars Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune. Its asymmetric wings rotate between three distinct configurations, giving the ship a dramatically different silhouette in each mode. This swooshable model recreates that movement around a sturdy Technic structure, with a rounded fuselage and a cockpit that seats one minifigure.

Design
I spent hours studying the R93 through the game’s photo mode to understand how its dual-rotating wings work. Recreating all three configurations became the central challenge: both wings upright for docking, the larger wing pointing down in Scout Mode, and both wings horizontal in Assault Mode.
I built the mechanism around Technic turntables, with interlocking pins and axles supporting the wings. The turntables offer no resistance, so the structure needed to hold each configuration without relying on friction. The finished wings are strong enough to support the model during handling.
Building sideways throughout the fuselage helped capture its rounded profile. A removable lower windscreen provides access to the custom pilot’s seat.
