Non-canon material describes it as a shipyard tug that moved power cells, mining skiffs, and compact cargo pods using a magnetic harpoon and a durasteel tow cable. The rear-facing seats were originally designed for a cargo manager who operated the equipment while keeping loads stable in flight. Modularity was a major selling point, and sources emphasize that Incom offered numerous upgrade kits to help the T-47 adapt to a huge range of workloads.

Creating the Commercial T-47 Airspeeder in LEGO

This is one of two airspeeders I designed, which explores the civilian roots of the T-47 Airspeeder. My Commercial T-47 Airspeeder MOC uses a bright, high-visibility color scheme, which is the kind of colorway I imagine would be common across construction and industrial fleets (or used by the Mining Guild). Like my consumer build, it relies on a mix of SNOT techniques in the wings to achieve a clean, seamless finish. This model also features the familiar rear-facing rear seat.
