Star Wars Outlaws Diorama, 2026 Convention Season
Myrra City on Akiva is under Imperial control. Someone on that colonnade wall is painting over the propaganda anyway.
Kay Vess is on the pad. Two pit droids are already rolling out to meet her.
Star Wars Outlaws is a game set in the criminal underworld of the galaxy, and Myrra City is one of its standout locations. The city is lush despite the occupation: dark tan stonework, olive vegetation, lavender flowers throughout the courtyards. The R93 Refractor, Kay Vess’s ship from the game’s expansion, has purple accents that sit directly in that palette. The colors were already there. I just had to put them together.

How It Came Together
This is the sixth LEGO MOC diorama I’ve built for this convention season, and the one I spent the most time getting wrong before I got it right.
The R93 Refractor was already finished as a standalone ship and, as far as I know, it’s the only LEGO version of this ship in existence. The question was what to put it in. Once I started pulling reference from Akiva, the color overlap was obvious: the ship’s purple accents against the lavender flowers throughout Myrra City. The game’s art direction basically handed me the palette.
The landing pad is plates only, no angled pieces. I set that as a constraint early and held to it, partly for parts accessibility and partly because I wanted to see if I could get a convincing circle out of nothing but plates. It took several prototypes.
The scene didn’t feel like Star Wars until late in the build. It was pretty, but it wasn’t reading right. A few targeted additions fixed it: a custom printed tile from Firestar Toys showing Rebel graffiti painted over an Imperial propaganda poster, two pit droids, and Kay Vess placed in the cockpit. The graffiti tile did most of the heavy lifting.
The complete breakdown, from landing pad prototype through every iteration of the colonnade, is on Patreon for Tier 1 and above members. It includes the render I used to prototype the pad shape and the specific design decisions that got cut. Tier 1 (Hangar Crew) includes a 7-day free trial.
