Din Djarin’s N-1 Starfighter is a custom rebuild of the classic Naboo N-1, first seen in The Book of Boba Fett and later featured throughout The Mandalorian. Stripped down, hot-rodded, and rebuilt for speed, this iconic starfighter blends prequel-era elegance with a gritty, utilitarian edge that perfectly suits its Mandalorian pilot.
This LEGO Star Wars–inspired MOC recreates Mando’s N-1 Starfighter in a compact, sturdy, and highly swooshable design. With refined proportions, accurate wing geometry, detailed cockpit controls, and configurable options for Grogu or an astromech droid, this build captures both the heritage of the original Naboo starfighter and the personality of its custom rebuild.
Origin, Design, and Specs
After the destruction of the Razor Crest, Din Djarin is left without a ship until he crosses paths with master mechanic Peli Motto on Tatooine. What starts as a forgotten Naboo N-1 hull in her hangar slowly transforms into a fully rebuilt starfighter, customized from the frame up to suit a lone bounty hunter rather than a royal escort.
Peli strips the ship of its astromech socket, weapons systems, and luxury fittings, replacing them with exposed engines, reinforced components, and hand-tuned performance upgrades. As she proudly sums it up during the rebuild in The Book of Boba Fett, “She’s got personality, this one.” The result is a ship that feels fast, personal, and slightly unhinged, perfectly matching Din’s evolving role in the galaxy.
Creating Mando’s N-1 Starfighter in LEGO
My original N-1 Starfighter was one of the very first MOCs of this ship, released just days after its debut in The Book of Boba Fett, Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian. This newly rebuilt version represents a major step forward, adding over 100 parts and refining nearly every area of the design:
- More accurate — Correct wing shape and angle, smoother fuselage
- Better proportions — 4 studs narrower and 4 studs longer
- Detailed cockpit interior — Recreated, adjustable flight controls and an accurate pilot’s seat
- Storage — Removable 4×4 front storage section large enough for Mando’s rifle, pistol, Beskar bars, credits, and more
- Astromech port options — Traditional droid socket for R5-D4 (The Book of Boba Fett version) or canopy for Grogu (The Mandalorian Season 3 version)

Role in Star Wars
The Naboo N-1 Starfighter first appeared in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace as the sleek royal defense craft of Naboo. Designed by Doug Chiang, the N-1 blended art-deco elegance with aggressive performance, instantly setting it apart from the grittier starfighters of the original trilogy.
Over time, the N-1 has appeared across films, animated series, and games, often symbolizing a more refined, high-performance approach to starfighter design. Din Djarin’s rebuilt N-1 flips that identity on its head. It keeps the iconic silhouette and speed while stripping away the polish, turning a ceremonial royal craft into a bare-metal, no-nonsense personal ship. That contrast is exactly what makes Mando’s N-1 feel so memorable, and why it translates so well into LEGO form.
