Original Star Wars Diorama, 2024-2025
The most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the galaxy, rendered in LEGO at a scale that fits on a shelf.
This started as a downsizing exercise. The LEGO UCS Mos Eisley Cantina set is stunning but too large for my display shelf, so it was redesigned from scratch: same spirit, smaller footprint, more accurate exterior details, and a roof. That became the centerpiece. The rest of the street filled in from there.
On the far left, a Jawa shop is mid-raid. Imperials have turned up over an illegal weapons inventory, and at least one Jawa has already found the rear escape hatch. Next to it, Peli Motto runs her workshop, a spaceport engineer familiar to anyone who has watched The Mandalorian. Stairs at the rear lead up to her apartment.
To the right of the cantina, the front office was Pyke Syndicate territory in The Book of Boba Fett. Here it flies Imperial colors. Behind it is the Mod Parlor, operated by The Modifier, the cybernetic engineer played by musician Thundercat in the series. There is a custom minifig of him out front. Above the parlor is a criminal hideout, because in Mos Eisley, there is always something happening just out of sight.
