Droids
In the vast galaxy of Star Wars, droids are more than just background tech — they’re full-fledged characters with unique designs and personalities. From loyal astromechs to clunky power droids, these mechanical companions have inspired generations of fans and builders alike. My LEGO droids pay tribute to some of the most beloved (and obscure) units across the Star Wars universe.
Take the iconic astromech droid, for example — a trusty sidekick to Jedi and pilots alike. R2-D2 might be the most famous, but the variety of dome-headed, beeping repair units across the saga offers endless creative potential for custom LEGO builds. On the chunkier end, GNK power droids (affectionately called “Gonk” droids) may not be glamorous, but their walking battery-pack design is a fan favorite — and an irresistible subject for brick-based interpretations. For something a bit more culinary, there’s the COO-series cook droid, first glimpsed clattering around Jabba’s palace. With its spindly limbs and multitasking kitchen tools, this droid brings a slice of galactic flavor to any collection. And then there’s the BD explorer droid, introduced in Jedi: Fallen Order — compact, curious, and packed with charm. Its small frame and animated movements make it a standout addition to any LEGO display.
Whether you’re into utility droids, battle bots, or one-of-a-kind oddballs, my LEGO Star Wars droids celebrate the mechanical heart of the galaxy — one stud at a time.
